THE ROLE OF SCHOOL INSPECTION ON TEACHER PERFORMANCE IN SELECTED SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN KADUNA SOUTH ABSTRACT The study investigates the role of school inspection on teacher performance in selected secondary schools in Kaduna south. The instrument for collecting the study data was a close ended questionnaire given to two groups of respondents which were the teachers and educational inspectors, the responses were collated and presented in a table form with the aid of statistics. The result obtained show- cased a relationship between the issues raised in the problem of the study and the actual findings in the study also tells contrary to the view that inspection contributes negatively to teacher performance in the sense that it agrees with the views of education practitioners and experts.
